Vyzo

Privacy policy

Effective 31 October 2026. Applies to Vyzo (iPhone and iPad) and Vyzo Host (Mac).

Summary

Vyzo does not have accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking. What you see and do on your Mac goes between your own devices. We do not receive your screen, audio, keystrokes or files.

Between your iPhone and your Mac

Vyzo Host on your Mac and the Vyzo app on your iPhone or iPad connect directly to each other, on your local network. The connection is encrypted and each device checks the other's identity, set up when you pair them by scanning the code shown on your Mac. Through this connection the Mac sends your screen (and, if you turn it on, its system audio) to your phone, and your phone sends touches, keystrokes, clipboard text and any photos or files you choose to send. None of this is sent to us or to any third party.

Files sent from your phone are saved on the Mac in a temporary folder (in the Mac's caches) and are cleaned up automatically: folders older than 24 hours are removed when Vyzo Host starts and after each transfer. Pairing information (keys of the devices you paired) is stored on each device, in the Keychain or in the app's settings, and stays there.

Optional remote access (relay)

Remote access is off by default and is set up on the Mac, using an invite code. When it is on and your phone cannot reach your Mac on the local network, the two connect through a relay server we run at cyclaude-relay.ruqqq.sg. The relay forwards the already end-to-end encrypted packets between your devices. It cannot read them. To do this it needs, and keeps for as long as a session is active:

This session information is held in the relay's memory, and is written to a short-lived file on the relay's disk only to survive a restart of the service. The relay's system log does not record IP addresses or keys: it keeps a counters line every minute (number of sessions, packets and bytes) and, for each finished session, a session number, the bytes sent each way and the number of devices. These logs are rotated by size. The coordinator sees the address a request comes from only to rate-limit invite attempts, in memory, and its web server keeps no access log. Joining remote access also sends one request to our coordinator service, with your invite code, your Mac's public key and a signature, to give your Mac permission to use the relay. The coordinator stores a hash of the invite code, the label we gave the invite, and your Mac's public key with when it was last seen. You can stop using remote access at any time from the Mac's menu, and we can remove a Mac's access.

This website and updates

This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Downloads and Vyzo Host's update checks (once a day, to fetch the update feed) are requests to this site, which runs on Cloudflare; Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, processes standard connection data such as IP addresses to deliver these requests. We do not use that data to identify or track you.
